SEOUL, South Korea, July 22 (Korea Bizwire) – KNCDC, Korea National Contemporary Dance Company advances to Europe. Korea National Contemporary Dance Company announced they would perform “HOSITAMTAM” at Haus der Berliner Festspiele on July 27th as a part of Korea-Germany culture exchange project. A guest appearance for Dance RheinMain is also arranged at Kurtheater Bad Homburg on July 24th.
“HOSITAMTAM” is a work which deals with ambivalence of the inside of human who is faced with temptation of avarice and evil deed symbolized as a tiger, and features oriental and originative movement and refinement of modern abstract. It consists of 2 pieces, part 1 ‘Kicked hard the tiger’s nose’ and part 2 ‘If it cannot be helped’. Having been premiered in 2012, “HOSITAMTAM” is choregraphed by Hong Sungyop, artistic director of KNCDC, who recorded all-seat sellout of 5 performances with his dance company’s guest appreance while receiving high praises such as ‘unusual genius of idea’, ‘poetic rhythm of choreography’ from local media at Lyon Dance Biennale(2000) in France which is one of the highest authorities of world dance festival.
Korea National Contemporary Dance Company presents this performance with the support and cooperation of Korean Cultural Center of Korean embassy to Germany and consulate general of Frankfurt as it is performed as a part of Korea-Germany culture exchange project. It is expected to promote the Korean contemporary dance to Germany and Europe by inviting local prominent figures regarding diplomacy and culture to the performance and reception and to contribute to mutual understanding and friendly relationship of both countries through the culture.
Meanwhile, Korea National Contemporary Dance Company was invited to Ballet gala 2013 –Europa tanzt commemorating ’40th anniversary of Würzburg European city appointment’ on last July 8th and joined the gala performance with world best ballet companies such as Royal Danish Ballet, Het National Ballet Amsterdam, National Ballet Prag, AterBalletto Italia, Göteborg Ballet Sweden. Being reviewed as ‘aus wie Gottinnen aus einer weit entfernten Kultur’, ‘kleines Wunder’, KNCDC was highly acclaimed by the local media and audiences with the finale scene of ‘Kicked hard the tiger’s nose’
