SEOUL, Nov. 8 (Korea Bizwire)South Korea’s postal service Korea Post said Monday it will release two new postage stamps with anti-counterfeit features that can be checked with smartphones.

The postage stamps feature images of a daegeum, a traditional Korean woodwind instrument, and a gold cap from Cheonmachong Tomb which dates back to the Silla Dynasty (57 B.C.-A.D. 935), applied with indigenous anti-counterfeit technology.

Taking a photo of the stamps using a smartphone application developed by the Korea Minting, Security Printing & ID Card Operating Corp. will allow the user to check if the stamps are authentic.

There have been no reported cases of counterfeit postage stamps since 2014, when the last counterfeit stamp was found.
