BANGKOK, Sept. 11 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korea Tourism Organization held 2017 Love Korea Weekend over the weekend in Bangkok, known as the capital of the Korean pop culture fan base in Southeast Asia.
The event, which was devised to promote tourism in South Korea, saw over 150 local female Korean culture enthusiasts perform a flash mob dance while wearing hanbok, traditional Korean attire.

The event also featured a hanbok fashion show, a makeup show and a talk show on trips to South Korea.
Off the back of support and popularity among women in their 20s and 30s, the number of Thai tourists to South Korea has been on a steady rise, increasing by 4 percent on-year in August.

Despite North Korea’s recent bellicosity, and stricter immigration rules due to a growing number of illegal stays, tourism authorities forecast the number of Thai visitors to South Korea will hit a record high 500,000 this year.
