SEOUL, May 8 (Korea Bizwire) — Korean Air introduced its Cosmo Suites, a type of first class seating comparted with sliding doors, on May 7. Korean Air will operate eight of the new suites on a newly acquired B777-300ER.
The suites will be perfect for travelers seeking a private place during flight, as they will be completely separated from other passengers due to the sliding doors.
The seats themselves have been enlarged widthwise, as the two armrests are modified to be adjusted to seat level when the chair is converted into bed mode.
The new aircraft’s Prestige Suite also has armrests that automatically slide down to seat level in bed mode. Dividers between seats have also increased in size.
The size of the inflight entertainment monitors in the Cosmo Suite and Prestige Suite have also been enlarged by 1 inch and 1.6 inches respectively. The remote control will be equipped with a touchpad.
Korean Air is planning to operate its new suites on B747-8i, B787-9 and A330-300 aircraft, which will be purchased gradually starting in the second quarter of the year.
