SEOUL, Aug. 3 (Korea Bizwire) — Korean American students in the U.S. have published a book about Korean folklore in the English language.
Eleven students from Hwarang Youth Foundation, a non-profit volunteer organization based in California, translated and published Korean fables to share the tradition and spirit of the Korean people with children from around the world.
The book, titled the “Korean Fable Collection,” is a 136-page novel with 11 stories from Korean legends.
The high-school students took six months to design the storyline, illustrate, edit, revise, and publish the book.
“It wasn’t an easy task for students to translate the text and work on drawings as they studied for school, but the book has been published, and many people are buying it. They’ve done a good job,” the foundation said.
The students decided to donate all profits to two local children’s hospitals.
