SEOUL, Nov. 25 (Korea Bizwire) – Daelim is set to become the first local construction firm to make use of sound design in an apartment complex.

Sound design refers to the process of specifying, manipulating, and producing sound elements to achieve a specific effect or mood. Although it is most associated with sound recording and filmmaking, it has been adopted by other fields as well, including the automotive and electronics industries, in applications such as smartphone ringtones and car exhaust sounds.

Daelim plans to equip its future e-Pyeonhansesang and Acro apartments with differentiated music and sounds that it believes will better fit the housing environment. The company has been cooperating with ad music composer Kim Ja-hyun for the past year to develop sounds for its apartment franchises.

The first apartment complex to be equipped with the new sound design will be e-Pyeonhansesang Hansup City in Chuncheon, which expects its first residents in 2019.

“We’ve decided to develop our own independent sounds to provide our customers with a more comforting and pleasant residential environment,” said an official. “We’ll continue our sound design research so we can provide sounds that change daily, depending on weather, temperature, season, and time.”
