Korean Consumers Choose IU as This Year’s Favorite Ad Model

SEOUL, Dec. 28 (Korea Bizwire)K-pop songstress IU has been selected as this year’s most popular advertisement model by consumers.

The Korea Broadcast Advertising Corp. conducted a survey of 2,000 men and women between 20 and 59 years of age, in which 9.4 percent picked the 29-year-old soloist as their favorite advertisement model, making her the top choice.

IU, whose real name is Lee Ji-eun, was followed by figure skating legend Kim Yuna (6 percent), star entertainer Yoo Jae-suk (5 percent), Tottenham Hotspur’s Son Heung-min (4.5 percent) and actress Jun Ji-hyun (4.3 percent).

IU has been working as a global ambassador for Italian luxury brand Gucci sce 2020. She is also modeling for Woori Financial Group and Kakao Entertainment.

The singer-actress has also been the favorite model for Hite Jinro and Lotte Chilsung Beverage, as well as LG Household & Healthcare (cosmetics), J.ESTINA (jewelry), Black Yak and New Balance (fashion).
