SEOUL, May 6 (Korea Bizwire) — The Korean Cultural Center in the Philippines has held an unveiling ceremony for the “Korea-Philippines Wall of Cultural Exchange” painted near the entrance to the building.
The center, jointly with the Metropolitan Museum of Manila, has been carrying out a “Korea-Philippines Cultural Exchange Wall Painting Project” with Filipino wall painter Jappy Agoncillo for three weeks from March 28 to April 13 as part of the center’s efforts to introduce the cultures of the two countries.
The wall painting depicts two women, wearing Korean and a Filipino traditional attire, standing face to face.
In the background stands a tiger and an eagle, representing the two nations, as well as hanok and bahay na bato, traditional homes of the two countries.
The national flowers hibiscus and sampaguita also feature in the mural.
