Korean Pizza Franchise Invades Chinese Market

SEOUL, Oct. 19 (Korea Bizwire)‘Mr. Pizza’, the restaurant chain operated by  MPK Group, announced that it has opened its 100th store in China at Hangzhou. The company is planning to accelerate its advance into the Chinese market.

After Mr. Pizza entered the Chinese market in 2000, opening its first store in Beijing, the company opened its 50th store in October 2014. It took 15 years to open 50 stores in China, but 50 more stores have opened in the past year, showing that growth has more than doubled during the past three years.

Mr. Pizza plans to open new franchises at department stores in Hangzhou during during the month of October. Company officials also revealed that they are planning to set up two more corporate bodies.

After reaching its first surplus in 15 years in the first quarter of 2015, MPK Group announced that its cumulative surplus has surpassed the 1.5 billion won mark.
