SEOUL, Jan. 31 (Korea Bizwire) — KOTRA, the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, has released a new report titled “The Rise of AI Markets: A New Chapter in Export Opportunities,” analyzing the rapidly growing global artificial intelligence market and highlighting export opportunities for South Korean companies.
The report projects that the global AI market will grow to more than $1 trillion by 2030, maintaining a high annual growth rate of 20-30%. Key growth areas identified in the report include data center equipment, industrial robots, and AI medical systems.
South Korea ranks as the world’s sixth-leading nation in AI technology, following the United States, China, Singapore, and the United Kingdom. The report cites Korea’s business environment and government policies as key strengths contributing to its position.
“Korean companies already possess world-class competitiveness in hardware sectors such as semiconductors and batteries, suggesting a high probability of success in the AI market,” said Lee Jihyung, executive director of KOTRA’s Economic and Trade Cooperation Division. “We will actively support companies’ new ventures by providing customized strategies for overseas expansion.”
