SEOUL, April 2 (Korea Bizwire)KT Corp., a major South Korean telecom operator, said Thursday that it has established the nation’s first ‘digital health pass’ platform in collaboration with Incheon International Airport and the Inha University Hospital.

The company said that the platform aims to support the safe entry and departure of people into and from the country, as well as to lead the global flight against COVID-19 on the basis of ICT-based epidemic response capabilities.

The digital health pass is a virus test result and vaccination certification platform designed to support safe entry into and exit from South Korea under circumstances in which cross-border travel is restricted due to the spread of the coronavirus.

If platform users obtain a negative test before departure from the country, the test result is automatically linked to the app, enabling them to display the test result easily at the airport.

The platform also digitalizes various documents needed in the process of entering other countries.

In the future, KT plans to add vaccination data and connect it with other vaccination certification platforms that are under review in and outside of South Korea.
