SEOUL, Dec. 10 (Korea Bizwire)A photo of a vehicle thought to be Ssangyong Motor’s new Tivoli compact SUV is making rounds on the Internet. The Tivoli will be officially rolled out in mid-January next year.

On December 9, on an online bulletin for auto-lovers, a photo of the rear of an SUV that clearly shows the English spelling of “Tivoli” was posted. Tivoli is the name of Ssangyong’s new crossover developed under the project name X100.

Tivoli, an ancient town near Rome, is loved by tourists from the world over for its cultural heritage and natural beauty, including the Villa d’Este, a World Heritage Site. It is also the name of an amusement park and garden in Copenhagen, Denmark.

Ssangyong Motor, which disclosed rendered images of the new SUV at the end of last month, said, “The exterior of Tivoli stresses a modern urban silhouette with rhythmic motion, based on its ‘Nature-born 3Motion’ design philosophy.”

Ssangyong will launch a gasoline engine version in January, and add diesel engine and four-wheel drive models later. The standard model features a 6-speed automatic transmission, while a 6-speed manual transmission will be available as an option. Other details are expected to be released at the vehicle’s official launch.
