LG Ad Featuring Nat’l Curing Team Hits 5 Mln YouTube Views


SEOUL, Apr. 4 (Korea Bizwire)LG Electronics Inc. said Wednesday its new vacuum cleaner advertisement, which features the South Korean women’s curling team that won a surprise silver in the 2018 Winter Games, tallied more than 5 million views on video-sharing platform YouTube.

The advertisement, first showcased on March 14, posted more than 350,000 views on the first day, and reached the 1-million mark in three days.

The curlers introduce LG Electronics’ flagship vacuum cleaners, the CordZero A9, T9, and R9 in the video clip.

The South Korean tech giant clinched a four-year sponsorship contract with the women’s curling team last month.

The curling team, which ranked low among the top 10 teams competing in the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics, went on an unexpected run to a silver medal. The victory turned the athletes into stars even though before the Winter Games curling was not well-known in the country.
