SEOUL, May 28 (Korea Bizwire) — LG CNS announced Wednesday it has significantly upgraded its artificial intelligence-based software development platform, expanding its capabilities beyond coding to encompass the entire system development lifecycle — from analysis and design to testing and quality diagnostics.
The platform, formerly limited to code generation under the name “DevOn AI Driven Development,” has been rebranded as an “AI Programmer.” The updated version enables developers to design and build systems using natural language commands, drastically reducing development time and complexity.
According to LG CNS, the upgraded AI system can now analyze and summarize complex source code into natural language descriptions. Developers can then modify or expand the system’s functionality simply by adding text-based instructions.
For example, when analyzing a bank transfer system, the AI outlines steps such as verifying the recipient’s account, checking transfer amounts, calculating fees, and confirming balances — all in plain language. Developers can then insert new requirements like “add voice authentication” to modify the design.
A new “Coding Agent” feature enables generative AI to autonomously generate source code, run tests, and self-correct errors. The AI can iterate through this process until it produces fully functional and verified code, reducing human intervention in testing and debugging.
LG CNS plans to evolve the platform further into an “agentic AI” model, where the AI can independently plan and execute development tasks based on high-level commands from developers.
The initiative reflects growing momentum among Korean IT firms to harness generative AI for full-cycle automation in software engineering, reinforcing LG CNS’s position at the forefront of enterprise AI solutions.
