SEOUL, Dec. 1 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Display Co., a major display panel maker, has unveiled a new solution that embeds OLED screens in the floor to be used as one-of-a-kind displays.
The company announced Wednesday that it has set up a transparent OLED T-floor at the flagship store opened by SM Brand Marketing, a subsidiary of leading K-pop agency SM Entertainment located in Seongsu-dong, Seoul.
A total of 33 transparent 55-inch OLED screens have been embedded in the floor of the store lounge. The screens are used to lay out albums and celebrity merchandise, rendered through various graphic effects and holograms.
The solution can be expanded to an unlimited size by simply adding more transparent OLED screens. They emit less heat than other LED displays, and use tempered glass to support the weight of visitors and installations.
