BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Display Co., a South Korean maker of flat panels used in televisions and other products, said Wednesday that it will forge cooperation with Chinese TV makers to expand sales of larger organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display panels.
Eddie Yeo, president of LG Display’s OLED business division, made the remarks during a meeting in Beijing with representatives from six Chinese TV makers, including Changhong, Haier, Kongka and Skyworth.
Yeo said LG Display “aims to expand sales of large-screen OLED high-definition televisions in China through this cooperation.”
Changhong and Kongka will soon begin selling high-definition televisions using LG Display’s 55- and 65-inch OLED panels, Yeo said.
OLED displays have better picture quality and consume less power than liquid crystal display (LCD) panels.
