SEOUL, Sept. 13 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Display Co., a major display panel maker in South Korea, said Sunday that it will build a smart parking lot using its transparent organic light-emitting diode (OLED) display.
The company has sent 55-inch transparent panels for interior to a parking lot at the Convention and Exhibition Center (COEX) in southern Seoul that is being run by Kakao Mobility Corp., the mobility business unit of Kakao Corp., using Kakao T Parking service.
The panels have been installed at six major entrances that connect the parking lot and the shopping mall.
The OLED panels can be attached to any glass window to save space, giving the illusion that the window is working as a display, thanks to its high-resolution, open-view features.
LG Display also supplied 55-inch OLED panels for the parking lot’s infotainment system to display Kakao T Parking Lot usage information and advertisements.
