SEOUL, Dec. 28 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Display said it will unveil a lineup of record-setting gaming display technologies at CES 2026, underscoring its push to dominate the fast-growing OLED monitor market.
The South Korean display maker announced on Sunday that it will introduce the world’s first gaming OLED panel capable of a 720-hertz refresh rate, the fastest ever achieved in an OLED display.
The 27-inch panel refreshes the screen 720 times per second, a benchmark aimed at competitive gamers who demand ultra-smooth motion. LG Display said it is the first company to realize such an ultra-high refresh rate using OLED technology.
The panel also boasts a response time of just 0.02 milliseconds—more than 150 times faster than the average LCD—effectively eliminating motion blur and image ghosting.
Among other firsts, LG Display will showcase a 39-inch 5K2K gaming OLED panel, the only mass-produced model of its size in the world. Featuring a 21:9 ultrawide aspect ratio, curved design and resolution exceeding UHD standards, the display is designed to heighten immersion for gaming and content consumption.
The company will also debut the world’s first OLED gaming panel with a 240-hertz RGB stripe pixel structure, delivering both high refresh rates and sharper visuals with a pixel density of 160 pixels per inch.
LG Display said all gaming OLED panels released in 2026 will incorporate its latest “Primary RGB Tandem 2.0” technology, an enhanced version of a large OLED innovation it first introduced last year. The technology enables peak brightness of up to 1,500 nits while maintaining deep, true black levels.
“With displays that combine world-class performance and innovation, we are strengthening our competitiveness in the global market,” said Lee Hyun-woo, head of LG Display’s large display business. “As demand for OLED monitors accelerates, we plan to aggressively expand our presence by leading with first-of-its-kind and best-in-class technologies starting next year.”
