SEOUL, Feb. 2 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics has officially launched the ‘LG StandbyME 2’ in the domestic market, marking the first major update to its popular lifestyle screen series in four years. The new model enhances mobility and usability, featuring an improved moving-wheel system and versatile viewing angles.
One of the key innovations of the StandbyME 2 is its detachable screen, which can be separated from the stand at the press of a button, eliminating the need for screws or complex disassembly. Users can also position the screen on a dedicated accessory, allowing it to function like a tablet on tables or other surfaces.
The device features a 27-inch QHD (2,560×1,440) display, delivering improved image quality compared to its predecessor’s Full HD resolution. Additionally, a high-capacity battery enables up to four hours of use without a power connection, further enhancing its portability.
Equipped with the Alpha 8 AI processor, the StandbyME 2 leverages artificial intelligence to optimize video and audio quality by analyzing and adjusting content in real time, delivering an immersive viewing experience with optimized visuals and surround sound.
LG Electronics incorporated extensive customer feedback in the product’s design process, refining its features based on user preferences and addressing previous limitations.
The company first unveiled the StandbyME 2 in early January at CES 2025, the world’s largest consumer electronics and IT trade show. Pre-orders for the device will be available from February 5 to 18 through LG’s online brand shop, with an official release set for February 21.
Baek Sun-pil, head of TV product planning at LG Electronics, emphasized the brand’s commitment to user-centric innovation. “By integrating customer insights, we have completely reimagined the StandbyME 2, offering a unique and personalized viewing experience,” he said.
