LG Electronics Co. said Monday it has been named the most creative supplier of the year by General Motors Co. (GM) for its outstanding innovation and collaboration.
At GM’s 33rd Supplier of the Year Awards held last week, LG Electronics received the Creativity Team Award in recognition of its role in redefining in-vehicle entertainment and connectivity systems.
The annual event recognizes nearly 100 suppliers across 12 countries, underscoring their work to cultivate strong relationships with GM.
LG Electronics has been working with GM since 2006. The company was first recognized at GM’s Supplier of the Year Award in 2014 and has now received honors from GM on seven occasions.
“This latest recognition from GM serves as a testament to our commitment to developing and reliably supplying innovative automotive solutions,” said Vice President Eun Seok-hyun, head of the vehicle solutions division at LG Electronics.
“We look forward to strengthening our partnership as we continue to push the boundaries of automotive technology.”
LG Electronics, traditionally known for its home appliances, has made constant efforts to diversify its business portfolio and become a future-oriented company since withdrawing from its smartphone business in 2021.
