SEOUL, July 11 (Korea Bizwire)LG Electronics Inc. plans to introduce its energy-saving auto demand response (DR) service in the U.S., utilizing the LG ThinQ smart home platform.

The company announced on Monday its plan to launch the auto DR service in three U.S. states – California, New York, and Texas, in collaboration with OhmConnect, a U.S. energy solution company.

The DR service aims to recommend reducing electricity consumption during high-demand hours and provide incentives to participants in the program.

LG ThinQ is seamlessly integrated with OhmConnect. When a local power company requests OhmConnect to reduce electricity consumption during peak hours of increased demand, LG ThinQ automatically executes the request.

Upon receiving a request to reduce electricity consumption, LG ThinQ automatically adjusts the temperature setting of customers’ air-conditioners to minimize energy usage.
