SEOUL, Nov. 12 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Electronics announced on November 11 the launch of its latest mobility innovation, the Digital Cockpit Gamma, a new concept that reimagines the driving experience through advanced automotive technology.
This marks the third iteration in the company’s forward-looking cockpit series, following the Alpha and Beta versions released last year.
The Digital Cockpit Gamma, designed as a modular system, comprises three main components that customers can select according to their preferences: Vision Display, Intelligent HMI (Human Machine Interface), and Connectivity & Content.
At the heart of the Vision Display module is a transparent OLED instrument panel that displays essential driving information such as navigation and speed. The system also features a rollable plastic OLED for the Central Information Display (CID).
The Intelligent HMI represents an evolution in vehicle-driver interaction by incorporating artificial intelligence. For example, the system can detect drowsy driving and proactively suggest ordering coffee to ensure driver safety.
The Connectivity & Content module leverages 5G technology to deliver high-speed data transmission and enhanced entertainment experiences. Passengers can enjoy high-definition content and live broadcasts through LG’s webOS content platform while in the vehicle.
LG Electronics’ Vehicle component Solutions (VS) has been showcasing its advanced mobility technology concepts through the Mobility Lab Works Series on its official website since last year.
The company explains that this initiative aims to demonstrate LG’s innovative mobility technologies and differentiated customer experiences to both automakers and the general public.
“We will continue to showcase LG Electronics’ unique future automotive technology capabilities that deliver differentiated driver experiences,” said Eun Seokhyun, President of LG Electronics VS.
