SEOUL, June 30 (Korea Bizwire) –LG Electronics announced on June 30 that it will launch its 2024 lineup of wireless OLED TVs featuring improved wireless transmission technology in both domestic and international markets.
The new models boast significant improvements over their predecessors. The maximum refresh rate for 4K resolution has been increased from 120Hz to 144Hz, making these TVs the first to receive NVIDIA G-Sync certification for 144Hz variable refresh rate.
This higher refresh rate allows for smoother viewing experiences in fast-paced content such as sports events and shooting games, even in a wireless environment.
A key feature of these TVs is their use of 60GHz high-band frequency for wireless transmission. This technology ensures stable performance without interference from conventional Wi-Fi networks that typically operate on bandwidths below 6GHz.
LG’s 2024 wireless OLED TVs support both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos, promising an immersive audiovisual experience without the need for cables. The TVs are equipped with LG’s Alpha11 processor, which boasts AI deep learning capabilities four times more powerful than its predecessor, resulting in enhanced picture and sound quality.
The company has also upgraded its webOS smart TV platform with AI-driven personalized experiences. For instance, users can log into their accounts using voice commands, with the AI recognizing individual voices.
LG Electronics pioneered wireless OLED TVs last year, appealing to consumers seeking a clutter-free viewing space by eliminating the need for cable connections to external devices like game consoles and set-top boxes.
The 2024 lineup expands on the existing 97-inch, 83-inch, and 77-inch models by introducing a new 65-inch option. According to market research firm Omdia, 65-inch models accounted for 33.7% of global OLED TV sales last year, second only to 55-inch models at 35.9%.
The 97-inch, 83-inch, and 77-inch models will be launched sequentially in global markets starting July 1 in South Korea. The 65-inch model is scheduled for release in South Korea in early August.
Park Hyoung-sei, head of LG Electronics’ Home Entertainment division, stated, “Based on enhanced wireless technology and AI performance, we aim to provide a new level of satisfaction to global customers who desire both a clean space and an overwhelming viewing experience.”
