SEOUL, Jan. 6 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. on Tuesday unveiled a new home robot, CLOiD, positioning it as a practical artificial-intelligence assistant designed to perform household tasks as the company pushes to embed AI more deeply into everyday life.
The robot was introduced at LG World Premiere, the company’s annual pre-CES event held Monday in Las Vegas ahead of the Consumer Electronics Show 2026. LG described CLOiD as a home-focused AI agent intended to provide ambient care and reduce both physical and cognitive workload for users.
Equipped with two articulated arms and five-fingered hands, CLOiD is designed to handle basic household chores, including loading laundry into a washing machine and delivering items such as drinking water.
The company said the robot moves beyond voice-based interaction, enabling AI to actively coordinate devices, living spaces and services within the home.

Chief Executive Lyu Jae-cheol said LG’s long experience in home appliances gives it an advantage in applying AI to real-world use cases. “Our understanding of customer lifestyles is a powerful asset,” Mr. Lyu said, adding that LG aims to set new standards for future home environments through AI-driven solutions, including robotics.
He said LG expects AI services to extend beyond the home into vehicles, workplaces and commercial settings, becoming more tightly integrated into daily routines.
At the event, LG also showcased a next-generation organic light-emitting diode television and updates to its high-end Signature product line. The LG OLED evo W6 Wallpaper TV features a 9-millimeter-thin panel designed to mount flush against walls, combining wireless connectivity with enhanced color performance.
The company’s Signature refrigerator was also highlighted, featuring AI capabilities that interpret conversational commands and offer customized recommendations, such as suggesting recipes based on stored food items.
