SEOUL, Sept. 6 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. has unveiled an non-fungible token (NFT)-based artwork transaction platform in the U.S. market.
The company announced on Monday that it had launched the LG Art Lab service in the U.S., enabling users to buy, sell and enjoy high-quality NFT artworks selected by professional curators.
The service will regularly showcase a series of new NFT artworks recommended by professionals.
It can be used through LG Smart TVs that runs on LG’s newest webOS 5.0 platform or higher released in 2020 or later, or through PCs and smartphones.
The purchased NFT artworks can be enjoyed through TV screens at home or can be sold after being registered at LG Art Lab’s marketplace.
The LG Art Lab is based on the blockchain platform Hedera and LG’s Wallypto cryptocurrency wallet, which was developed in-house.
LG has been carrying out studies on blockchain technology through participation in the Hedera operating committee since 2020.
