SEOUL, Sept. 4 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. has recently won a major deal in the United States to supply cooling solutions to artificial intelligence (AI) data centers, the company’s head said Thursday.
Cho Joo-wan, chief executive officer (CEO) of LG Electronics, made the remark in a social media post, marking the first time for the South Korean tech giant to openly reveal a supply deal for AI data centers.
“(In the U.S.), we recently secured a large-scale data center project, supplying chillers with advanced free-cooling capabilities, demonstrating both our technological competitiveness and our ability to meet the demanding requirements of global AI infrastructure,” Cho said.
LG Electronics has been making efforts to expand its AI infrastructure portfolio.
Cho noted that while such infrastructure “may not develop AI models directly,” they still remain necessary for their “performance, scalability and sustainability.”
“As a trusted innovation partner, LG Electronics remains committed to being at the forefront, delivering the infrastructure that powers the future,” he added.
