SEOUL, June 15 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Household & Health Care Ltd., a major South Korean cosmetics and household goods maker, said Tuesday it will protect the habitat of otters, which are classified as first-grade endangered species, as part of its ESG management.
To restore otter habitat, the company plans to install a playground for otters at the Yeouido Saetgang Ecological Park, as well as to support various activities to protect animals at risk of extinction.
In collaboration with social cooperative HANgang and the Community Chest of Korea, the company plans to offer education on the importance of otters and their environmental value to citizens visiting the playground.
In the latter half of this year, LG Household plans to host a variety of events, including an otter drawing contest, ecological monitoring, and volunteer activity for the protection of habitats.
