SEOUL, April 20 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. said Wednesday it would launch a project to assist children and teenagers with developmental disorders to utilize home appliances better in commemoration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
Under this initiative, LG will provide free books with explanations and illustrations tailored to the needs of children and teenagers with developmental disorders who have difficulty understanding existing product manuals.
The first product documented in this project is a refrigerator that is frequently used directly by children with developmental disorders.
Upon customer request, LG will provide a book that explains refrigerator-related scientific principles and practical knowledge with easy-to-understand text and illustrations, as well as manuals on how to use it safely.
The tech company also plans to increase its product donation activities to enhance educational accessibility for students with disabilities.
LG donated 30 StandbyME TVs to an online educational program run by the Seoul Educational Research & Information Institute for students with health disabilities.
By the end of this month, LG will donate 25 LG Gram laptops to university students with disabilities residing in farming and fishing villages.
