SEOUL, Dec. 4 (Korea Bizwire) — South Korea’s Consumer Agency on Thursday advised shoppers to closely check portability, processing speed and other core performance indicators before purchasing a laptop, after releasing comparative test results on five popular models launched this year.
According to the agency, LG Electronics’ 16Z90TS model was the lightest among those tested, with the laptop and charger weighing a combined 1,374 grams — roughly two-thirds the weight of Asus’ TP3607S, the heaviest at 2,085 grams.
In office-software speed tests, Samsung’s NT960XHA and LG’s 16Z90TS performed the fastest when plugged into a charger. All five models showed “good” performance when running on battery power.
Apple’s A3241 displayed the highest screen quality among the products reviewed.
Battery endurance varied significantly: Lenovo’s ThinkPad X9-15Gen1 lasted the longest at 13 hours and 2 minutes, more than double LG’s 16Z90TS, which recorded 5 hours and 42 minutes.
For audio fidelity, Apple, Lenovo and LG models received the strongest ratings for reproducing sound without distortion. All five laptops delivered front-camera quality deemed suitable for videoconferencing, and no issues were found with product safety or required labeling.
The supplied chargers ranged from 65 to 70 watts, and the overall product volume spanned from 1,092 to 1,693 cubic centimeters, the agency said.
