SEOUL, March 24 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics Inc. said Monday its new advanced organic light-emitting diode (OLED) evo TVs have claimed all top 10 spots in consumer rankings released by U.S. Consumer Report.
Consumer Report has recently adjusted its evaluation standards for TV products in terms of creditability, satisfaction, screen resolution and sound quality. The adjustments are reflected in the latest rankings.
As a result, 10 LG OLED evo TV models earned more than 88 points each, clenching the top 10 spots, a company spokesperson said.
In particular, LG OLED evo’s 55-type, 65-type and 77-type products earned the highest score of 90 points to be selected as the best products among 400 products tested by the U.S. product testing organization.
Three other LG OLED evo products and four OLED products from Samsung Electronics Co. were awarded 87 points each, filling the next seven spots following the top 10, according to the spokesperson.
The 2025 LG OLED evo incorporates brightness booster technology, which optimizes the display algorithm and organic compound structure to deliver images up to three times brighter than those of conventional OLED TVs.
The upgraded Alpha 11 processor in the new TV product enhances picture quality by analyzing footage in pixel-perfect detail and color correction to match the creator’s intent with rich spatial sound.
Demand for premium TVs, including OLED TVs, in North America is on the rise.
Nearly 30 percent of all premium TVs with a price tag of over US$1,500 sold globally last year were sold in the North American market, according to global market research firm Omdia.
