SEOUL, Jan. 5 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Electronics unveiled an ultra-slim, wireless “wallpaper” OLED television ahead of CES 2026, intensifying competition in the global premium TV market with a design that pushes both form and technology to new extremes.
At a media preview event in Las Vegas on Sunday, the company introduced the LG OLED evo W6, a flagship model just 9 millimeters thick that combines a minimalist, wall-mounted profile with next-generation wireless transmission. The new TV anchors LG’s 2026 OLED lineup and builds on the company’s pioneering wallpaper TV first launched in 2017.
The W6 integrates all core components — including the panel, mainboard, power board and speakers — into an all-in-one structure roughly the thickness of a pencil, eliminating the need for a separate soundbar.
For the first time, LG has also applied wireless technology capable of transmitting 4K video at a 165-hertz refresh rate, along with audio, without signal loss or latency. External devices connect through a downsized “Zero Connect Box,” reducing clutter and installation complexity.
Image quality remains central to LG’s premium strategy. The 2026 OLED evo lineup features the company’s new “Hyper Radiant Color” technology, powered by a third-generation Alpha 11 AI processor.
The processor delivers dual AI upscaling, a neural processing unit more than five times as powerful as its predecessor, and peak brightness up to nearly four times that of standard OLED models. A new “Reflection-Free Premium” treatment further reduces glare by neutralizing reflected light rather than dispersing it.
Gaming performance has also been upgraded, with support for Nvidia G-Sync, AMD FreeSync Premium, automatic low-latency mode and a response time of 0.1 milliseconds, positioning the W6 as a high-end display for both cinema and competitive gaming.
LG’s webOS smart TV platform has been expanded with multiple AI assistants, adding Google Gemini alongside Microsoft Copilot to enhance search, recommendations and voice interaction. The platform also incorporates LG Shield, the company’s security framework, and has earned CES Innovation Awards for cybersecurity and artificial intelligence for the second consecutive year.
“With the W6, we are combining 13 years of OLED leadership, true wireless transmission and bold form-factor innovation,” Park Hyoung-sei, head of LG Electronics’ media and entertainment business, said at the event. “Our goal is to deliver the most advanced and immersive viewing experience to customers worldwide.”
As Samsung and other rivals also unveil cutting-edge displays at CES, LG’s latest launch underscores how the battle for the premium TV market is increasingly being fought on design elegance, AI-driven performance and seamless integration into modern living spaces.
