SEOUL, Sept. 1 (Korea Bizwire) – LG Electronics is set to unveil its latest vision for the connected home, announcing it will showcase its new AI-powered home hub, LG ThinQ ON, at the IFA 2025 consumer electronics fair in Berlin.
The device, equipped with generative artificial intelligence, is designed to understand context, learn household patterns and predict needs, creating what the company calls “the optimal living environment.”
Branded under the theme “LG AI Appliances Orchestra,” the hub links LG’s AI appliances with a range of internet-of-things (IoT) devices to orchestrate a unified smart home experience.
A simple voice command such as “I’m going to bed” can prompt the system to dim lights, draw curtains, adjust the air conditioner and switch the air purifier to silent mode. The platform also supports the Matter interoperability standard, enabling connectivity across multiple brands and ecosystems.
Alongside the hub, LG will introduce nine new IoT products — from a smart door lock and lighting controls to air-quality, temperature and motion sensors — all manageable through the ThinQ app. A companion voice controller installed in individual rooms allows residents to operate appliances and receive alerts by voice from anywhere in the home.
LG is also extending the concept beyond the household. At IFA, it plans to display a concept car, Spielraum, integrating home AI and IoT into mobility to highlight how connected living could expand into vehicles and public spaces.
“LG ThinQ ON is the centerpiece of our next-generation AI home solution,” said Jeong Ki-hyun, head of LG’s HS Platform Business Center. “It unifies appliances and IoT devices under one platform, creating an AI home that evolves with its users.”
