SEOUL, May 5 (Korea Bizwire)LG Electronics Inc. has partnered with GS Retail Co., the operator of convenience store chain GS25, to expand its indoor robot delivery service.

At the GS25 convenience store located within the GS Tower in Seoul’s Gangnam neighborhood, the South Korean tech giant recently launched an indoor robot delivery service using its drawer-type CLOi ServeBot.

When customers in the building place an order by selecting GS25 items through an application, a convenience store worker loads the ordered items onto the robot manually and inputs the floor where the customers are located.

The robot can take the elevator by itself and make a phone call or send a message to customers after arriving on the selected floor.

The CLOi ServeBot features a width of 50 centimeters, a length of 50 centimeters and a height of 130 centimeters. With three tiers of drawers, it can carry up to 15 kilograms of cargo.

The robot also has a safety lock device to prevent robbery or loss during delivery.

Managers can remotely monitor the status of the robot and manage the history of use and delivery schedules using a robot control system.
