SEOUL, July 29 (Korea Bizwire) — LG Uplus Corp., a major South Korean telecommunications firm, announced Tuesday that it will join hands with KARA (Korea Animal Rights Advocates), an advocacy group for animal rights, to promote the adoption of abandoned animals.
The company will open up smart hotels for dogs and cats at the Pet Welfare Center in Paju, Gyeonggi Province.
The hotels come with the Uplus Smart Home Pet Care Service, which includes LG Uplus’s special artificial intelligence (AI) service designed for pets, AI Mom Car (CCTV), snack robot, and remotely controlled mood lights.
AI Mom Car can monitor the current status of abandoned animals. Snack robot offers snacks or plays with them. Mood lights come with music to soothe the animals.
The company plans to give out Uplus Smart Home Pet Care Service to all abandoned animals for free.
