SEOUL, Oct. 9 (Korea Bizwire) — More than a decade after introducing the world’s first mass-produced OLED TV, LG Electronics continues to lead the global market thanks to what analysts call a “compounding advantage” born from years of steady innovation and refinement.

According to a recent analysis by the U.S. technology outlet PCMag, LG’s long-term investment in OLED technology has created a cycle of cumulative progress that keeps the company ahead of competitors increasingly entering the market.

The report noted that from the debut of its OLED TV in 2013 through 2017, LG focused on improving key performance metrics such as brightness and viewing angles. Since then, the company has expanded its product lineup and design options, effectively broadening its consumer base.

PCMag highlighted LG’s latest fourth-generation OLED display and its new AI processor, the Alpha 11, as milestones in the brand’s continued evolution. The latest panel delivers higher brightness and more accurate color representation across various viewing environments, while the Alpha 11 chip boosts graphics performance by 70 percent and processing speed by 30 percent, resulting in sharper and more detailed picture quality.

“LG has consistently addressed real-world issues and expanded the usability of OLED, rather than simply upgrading specifications,” PCMag wrote. “The company remains firmly in the lead, with more than a decade of accumulated expertise reinforcing its dominance in OLED TV technology.”

LG’s OLED TVs are recognized for their “perfect black” and vivid color quality, advanced AI capabilities, and industry-leading lineup, including wireless audio and video transmission features.

Market research firm Omdia reported that LG maintained the No. 1 position in the global OLED TV market for the 12th consecutive year in 2024 and continues to hold the top spot this year as well.
