GIMHAE, July 5 (Korea Bizwire) — Local authorities are stepping up to prevent abandoned dogs turned feral from attacking pets, chickens, and other livestock.
The city of Gimhae in South Gyeongsang Province, about 450 kilometers southeast of Seoul, recently began capturing feral dogs with the help of a private animal protection team.
“We are capturing the dogs by luring them into traps,” the city said. “We don’t hire hunters to shoot them.”
The city government has captured 60 feral dogs so far.
Sancheong County in the same province also decided to offer free traps to curb ongoing assaults by feral dogs.
