SEOUL, Sept. 12 (Korea Bizwire) –Lotte Asahi Liquor, a prominent player in South Korea’s beverage industry, announced on September 12 that it will officially launch its premium beer Asahi Shokusai in the Korean market on September 24. This move comes after a limited release earlier this spring that garnered significant attention from beer enthusiasts.
The company has tapped popular actress Kwon Nara as the brand ambassador, leveraging her appeal to promote the new product.
Asahi Shokusai represents the second iteration of Asahi’s innovative draft beer can series, featuring a unique full-aperture lid design. The beer made its debut in Japan in March of this year, quickly gaining popularity for its distinctive packaging and flavor profile.
The premium brew has already received international recognition, earning the highest accolade — the Grand Gold award — at the prestigious Monde Selection, a quality evaluation competition held in Brussels, Belgium, in April.
Lotte Asahi Liquor describes Asahi Shokusai as a meticulously crafted premium beer that blends five different types of hops, including the French variety Aramis. This careful selection of ingredients results in a rich and complex flavor profile.
The company also highlights the beer’s effervescence, noting that foam rises instantly upon opening the can, promising a draft-like experience.
The beer will be available in 340ml cans with an alcohol content of 5.5%, positioning it in the standard range for premium lagers.
