SEOUL, April 25 (Korea Bizwire) — The main flames of a fire at the COEX exhibition center in southern Seoul have been contained, firefighting officials said Friday, amid no report of casualties.
The fire broke out inside a restaurant on the second floor of the exhibition center and firefighters responded to a fire report shortly after 11 a.m.
More than 120 personnel and 33 fire engines were deployed to the scene and the main flames were brought under control around 11:40, according to the officials.
People evacuated the building as black smoke filled the exhibition center and billowed out into the surrounding neighborhood.
Police plan to investigate the cause of the fire after it is completely put out.
