Majority of High School Teachers in Seoul Oppose New Credit System

SEOUL, Mar. 4 (Korea Bizwire)The Seoul Office of Education, in a survey conducted on high school teachers in October and November last year, showed that there are more teachers who oppose the introduction of a high school credit system than those who support it.

The results of the survey showed that 36.1 percent of the respondents opposed the idea of implementing a credit system at high schools, while only 25.9 percent said they supported the initiative.

Another 38 percent were undecided.

“There were claims that the credit system will only undermine many high school students’ effort to find their career path,” said the Seoul Office of Education.

The new high school credit system is scheduled to be introduced in 2022, aiming for full operation by 2025.
