SEOUL, March 21 (Korea Bizwire) — A majority of South Koreans in their 20s and 30s are interested in buying eco-friendly travel packages even if they are more costly.
Accommodation booking app Good Choice conducted a survey of 700 customers in their 20s and 30s, 45.3 percent of whom were willing to purchase eco-friendly packages even if they were more expensive.
Respondents were willing to pay 12 percent more on top of the original price.
At 78.8 percent, more than three-quarters of the respondents were more interested in travels that involve plogging, zero-waste activities and using electric vehicles.
Roughly half of the respondents wanted to travel with electric vehicles, followed by walking or riding a bicycle (33.3 percent) and using multi-use containers (28.7 percent).
“Those in their 20s and 30s believe that eco-friendly travel is more trendy than it is uncomfortable,” Good Choice said. “There will be a greater variety of means to go on eco-friendly travels in the future.”
