CHEONAN, Jan.12 (Korea Bizwire)A man in his 30s who lied to his family about passing the civil service examination committed suicide after pretending to go to work for a year.

According to the police, ‘A’ (30) was found dead in a motel bathroom in Cheonan on January 8 by a motel employee, who reported the incident.

‘A’, who had been preparing for the civil service examination, lied to his family about passing the test at a local government office in Chungnam Province in January 2015. He had been pretending to go to work everyday.

‘A’ left a suicide note confessing that he had lied about passing the test, and was very sorry to his parents.

The police added that the ‘20 million won’ mentioned in the suicide note seems to be the amount of money ‘A’ borrowed through a private loan.

Police officials commented that signs at the motel pointed to ‘A’ committing suicide. “When there was no call from the customer even after the checkout time, the motel employee visited the room, only to find ‘A’ dead in the bathroom. Considering that he left a suicide note, we assume he might have committed suicide because of the pressure he was under, lying about his employment.”
