GOYANG, South Korea, April 3 (Korea Bizwire) — Mercedes-Benz Korea unveiled the second-generation model of its high-performance two-door coupé, the Mercedes-AMG GT, at the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show, marking the vehicle’s first public appearance in the country.
The new AMG GT will be offered in two variants: the gasoline-powered GT 55 4MATIC+ and the hybrid-powered GT 63 S E Performance. Mercedes-Benz Korea described the models as representing the pinnacle of the brand’s motorsport-inspired engineering.
The GT 55 4MATIC+ is built according to AMG’s signature “one man, one engine” philosophy, in which a single master technician is responsible for assembling each engine from start to finish. Equipped with a 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine (M177) and a 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT transmission, the vehicle delivers a maximum output of 476 horsepower.
The GT 63 S E Performance pushes performance boundaries further, combining the same 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine with an electric motor to produce a staggering 843 horsepower—the most powerful in the GT lineup to date.
Mercedes-Benz Korea plans to launch the GT 55 4MATIC+ in May, with the GT 63 S E Performance slated for release in the second half of 2025.
Also making its domestic debut was the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupé, another high-performance model scheduled for local release later this year.
In a nod to cross-industry innovation, Mercedes-Benz also showcased its limited-edition “G-Class Project Mondo G,” developed in collaboration with iconic fashion brand Moncler. The G-Class “Final Edition” model, known as “Fast Ⅱ Future,” reimagines 1990s aesthetics through the lens of contemporary luxury, highlighting the G-Class as a timeless automotive icon. Only 20 units will be sold globally. This marks the brand’s second collaboration with Moncler, following their 2023 concept vehicle debut.
The automaker also highlighted its exclusive vehicle customization program, “MANUFAKTUR,” emphasizing bespoke craftsmanship and personalization.
A total of 15 Mercedes-Benz models are on display at this year’s Seoul Mobility Show.
“Over the past 140 years, Mercedes-Benz has led the automotive industry through relentless innovation,” said Matthias Luehrs, CEO of Mercedes-Benz Korea. “At the heart of that journey is our commitment to building the vehicles our customers dream of.”
