SEOUL, Nov. 29 (Korea Bizwire) — A district in Seoul offered milk delivery as an idea to prevent solitary death among senior citizens.
Songpa District said Thursday it will launch a milk delivery business next month to help keep an eye on senior citizens.
According to the plan, milk will be delivered three times a week to 150 elderly individuals living alone who qualify based on their financial circumstances.
In addition to the obvious health benefits of milk consumption, delivery people will also be able to check their safety and help prevent solitary death.
If delivery personnel note that milk delivered at an earlier date still hasn’t been brought inside, they will inform the community center in question, and related government officials will visit the elders immediately to take care of their health.
