JINDO, Mar. 26 (Korea Bizwire) — The Miracle Sea Road Festival in Jindo County, South Jeolla Province, dubbed the “Miracle of Modern Moses,” has established itself as a world-class festival.
According to Jindo County on Monday, a total of 530,000 tourists visited the 41st Miracle Sea Road Festival from March 21 to 24. Of the all tourists, 30,000 were foreigners.
The festival was held along with various additional events in time for the sea road forming between Hoedong and Modo Village, which was 2.8 kilometers long and 40 meters wide.
Honored as the best festival in South Korea for six consecutive years, this year’s festival showcased more than 70 types of experiences, performances and global events, along with theme-specific operations such as traditional folk and cultural performances, exhibition and experience, and global zones, as well as expanded experiences and performances from last year.
A number of tourists also flocked to the market for clean Jindo specialties such as Hongju, sea weed, laver, Ulgeum and Gujia in Jindo.
“We have greatly strengthened our additional events such as various experience events incorporating mysterious themes and ideas,” a Jindo County official said.
“We are planning to develop the Jindo Sea Road Festival into a representative festival in Korea.”
