MMCA Project Turns Bus Stops into Artwork

SEOUL, Dec. 15 (Korea Bizwire)A series of specially designed bus stops have been set up at the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) in Gwacheon, south of Seoul.

As part of an artwork by architect Kim Sa-ra from Diagonal Thoughts studios, the three bus stops surrounding the art museum have been recreated into a singular, abstract architectural design.

It is the winning artwork of a MMCA Gwacheon project that seeks to revitalize the art museum’s outdoor space.

Entering from the complex life of the city, these bus stops symbolize the entrance into nature, and the museum within, to offer a newfound sense of shelter to visitors, the art museum said.

The bus stops will be remain until Nov. 20 next year at MMCA.
