SEOUL, Sept. 20 (Korea Bizwire) — Most websites that collect personal data, online-to-offline (O2O) apps, and Internet of Things (IoT) gadgets are vulnerable to security breaches, data showed Thursday.
According to the data by the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA) and submitted to the National Assembly, 97 percent of the 13 websites, 19 O2Os apps, and 80 IoT gadgets have security weakness.
The data showed that 84.6 percent of the websites have vulnerability in the process of verifying personal data while 94.7 percent of the O2O apps were vulnerable in information security.
All of the 80 IoT gadgets showed vulnerability in network service and privacy policy, the data showed.
The KISA said it has told 32 website and O2O operators to improve their security, but 16 of them did not follow through.
