JEJU, Nov. 22 (Korea Bizwire) — Hikers will be able to enjoy next year’s first sunrise from the top of the 1,950-meter Mount Halla on South Korea’s largest island of Jeju.
The Jeju Provincial Government said Monday it will allow mountain climbing during the night on the first day of 2023, which had been aborted for the last two years due to the pandemic.
The provincial government will allow up to 1,500 people to climb the mountain via two routes.
All trekking reservations must be made via the Mount Halla Visit Reservation System, which will open at 9 a.m. on Dec. 1. Each person can make a reservation for no more than four people.
Participants can enter the mountain from midnight to noon on Jan. 1.
