SEOUL, March 3 (Korea Bizwire) — The National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (MMCA) said Wednesday it had selected the winner of the MMCA Gwacheon Project 2022: Rooftop Garden.
The project was launched by the museum last year to collaborate with artists to turn various spaces around the MMCA’s Gwacheon branch into experiential chambers for art.
Last year, the bus stop inside the museum was recreated into an artwork. This year, the museum’s rooftops will be used as platforms for various artworks.
“Garden in Time,” the winning proposal for this year, is a large canopy-shaped installation artwork comprising of numerous pipes.
The artwork recreates the rooftop into a special platform where nature and art convene inside a new time and space, the museum explained.
The artwork will be opened to the public on May 5, at the outdoor rooftop garden located on the third floor of the Gwacheon branch.
