SEOUL, July 1 (Korea Bizwire) — Namyang Dairy Products Co. has issued a formal apology for slandering its rival Maeil Dairies Co. in 2019.
The company posted a letter of apology on its corporate website on Tuesday.
In 2019, Namyang Dairy Products hired an advertisement agency to post malicious and slandering comments against Maeil Dairies on online forums and portal sites.
It made a formal apology to consumers, Maeil Dairies and its management staff, farm owners, and authorized dealers for distributing distorted, baseless information.
Namyang Dairy’s recent actions reflect a change in the company’s management structure.
Last May, local buyout fund Hahn & Company purchased a 53 percent share previously held by former chairman Hong Won-sik and his family members to take over the company.
