Efficient Way for Investors to Gain Access to a Unique Stock Selection System

NEW YORK, Dec. 10 (Korea Bizwire) — Nasdaq today announced that Validea Capital Management will list a new exchange-traded fund, Validea Market Legends ETF (Symbol: VALX), on The Nasdaq Stock Market. VALX will begin trading on today, December 10, 2014.

“Validea Capital believes that the best way to outperform the market is to learn from the select group of legendary investors who have done so historically,” said John P. Reese, Chief Executive Officer of Validea Capital and co-portfolio manager of the fund. “For over ten years, Validea Capital has been running fundamental-based models using these legendary strategies and now the Validea Market Legends ETF provides an easy way for individual and professional investors to gain access to our unique stock selection approach.”

According to Validea Capital, VALX is an actively managed fund that focuses on finding the most fundamentally sound stocks using disciplined investing models based on the strategies of Wall Street legends. The portfolio will be comprised of 10 unique investment models, each of which is based on the strategy of an investment legend. The strategies’ investment styles range from value to growth to income- and momentum-based approaches. The combination of different types of investing strategies allows the fund to seek market outperformance, while still setting itself up to perform well in different types of market environments when different investing strategies are in favor. The systematic approach Validea Capital uses in stock selection and portfolio management removes emotions and biases, which often times plague both individual and professional investors and reduce returns from the investing process. The fund will do this by focusing exclusively on the fundamentals when selec
ting stocks and by employing a disciplined rebalancing approach to ensure that the highest scoring stocks according to the stock selection system remain in the portfolio over time.

“The VALX product launch on The Nasdaq Stock Market represents an exciting opportunity for investors. We are proud that Validea chose Nasdaq as the home to list their product and trade ETFs,” said Walt Smith, Vice President, Head of U.S. Equities at Nasdaq. “We believe Nasdaq gives Validea the opportunity to access new markets and one of the single largest pools of liquidity, including a variety of market participants and investors.”

Nasdaq operates an efficient platform for successfully introducing a product suite into one of the single largest pools of liquidity, including market participants which represent a full spectrum of investors. ETF issuers benefit from an end-to-end solution that provides ongoing product support including index licensing, listings opportunities, data offerings and trading services. As the home to some of the world’s most innovative ventures, Nasdaq generates opportunities for issuers to access new markets and deliver new concepts that change the way the industry develops, manages and applies ETFs.
